Parents who recently moved to Nevada should note hepatitis A vaccination is required in the state. For a list of immunization requirements for school, visit Immunize Nevada’s School, Child Care, and University Vaccine Requirements page.
Parents or guardians vaccinating a child at a Health District clinic should bring immunization records. Parents or guardians who cannot locate immunization records should contact their health care provider. If their children were immunized in Nevada, parents can also visit Nevada WebIZ, a statewide immunization registry, at https://izrecord.nv.gov/public/Application/PublicPortal or call Nevada WebIZ at 775-684-5954. Non-custodial adults may accompany a child; however, written consent must be provided to the Health District from the parent or guardian at the time of service. Administrative fees and cost of vaccines may be applied depending upon insurance status.
The Health District accepts most insurance plans. Not all immunizations are covered by insurance. Contact the Health District’s immunization clinic for information and current fee schedule at (702) 759-0850 or visit the Health District’s Back-to-School Vaccine Clinics webpage.
Online Tool Connects Community with Students in Need
CCSD has an exciting new tool to support students experiencing homelessness through an agreement with the Purposity Foundation.
CCSD’s Title I HOPE Office will use the app to highlight specific needs of students experiencing homelessness with the help of advocates on school campuses.
The vision for Purposity is to inspire us to live generously by connecting people to doing good in the same way Facebook connects us to friends and Google connects us to information.
The Purposity app sends a weekly notification to users with a need in their area. With just a few clicks, people can satisfy needs ranging from personal grooming items for a local student to small household items for a family in need. The app also features user profiles that track donors’ giving, allowing them to see their impact.
To support CCSD Students experiencing homelessness:
Download the Purposity App in the App Store or join via the web and follow Clark County School District.
If you or someone you know is experiencing homelessness:
Please contact the Title I HOPE advocate at your child’s school for assistance.
Title I HOPE is available to provide resources and support for students identified as homeless. If a student has lost housing and is living in a home with someone else, in a hotel or motel due to economic hardship, in a shelter or transitional housing program, or living unsheltered in a car, park, etc.,Title I HOPE can support by referring to community agencies and assisting students living in transitional living situations with educational needs. Title I HOPE can be contacted at 702-855-6682 or visit their website at https://aarsi.ccsd.net/title-i/hope/.
Clark County 1 October Memorial Committee
Clark County’s 1 October Memorial Committee is reaching a critical phase in the creation of a lasting memorial that remembers the victims of the 1 October 2017 shooting, honors the survivors and first responders, and recognizes the resilience of our community. If you have an idea for what a memorial should look like, now is the time to share it! Clark County invites you (and anyone you know who may be interested) to submit drawings, artwork, short videos, songs, poems or other digital forms of design along with a letter of intent that describes the idea or feelings the item is meant to convey. Submissions are being accepted online through the Call for Creative Expressions portal available on this app – https://apps.vdomobile.com/m/1octobermemorial/.
More details about this effort (and other pathways for participation) may be found on the 1 October Memorial Committee’s website at https://ClarkCountyNV.gov/1OctoberMemorial. Submissions for Creative Expressions are being accepted through September 30.
Clark County encourages you to tell friends and share information about this effort on social media. Participation is welcome from anyone who was affected by the tragedy in any way, including those who live outside our area. The hashtag is #1OctoberMemorial. Clark County also has graphics and fliers available for public use on our website. The design teams that compete to build the memorial as part of the next phase of this process will be expected to review all Creative Expressions submissions received from the public. They may draw upon your idea as they develop their proposals to present to our community next year. They also may ask artists to join their design teams.
Clark County looks forward to hearing from you! To follow the progress of this effort, please visit the 1 October Memorial Committee’s website and subscribe to receive free email updates. Additionally, you can follow the work of the committee at www.Facebook.com/1OctoberMemorial as it creates a “Memorial to Remember.”
