Monday 12/9/2016 - Friday 16/9/2016

Hello from Balladen CP School.

We have had a wonderful second week back at school. Myself and all of the teachers and teaching assistants at school have been so impressed with the calm learning atmosphere around our school and how quickly the children have settled into their new classes.

It has been great to see the new Reception children come into school. Two of the three groups are now attending school and we are really looking forward to seeing the other children on Monday. Thank you to all Mums, Dads and Carers for lending us your lovely children each and every day!

We have had a very busy week with so much learning taking place all over the school.

Please do have a look at our incredible twitter feed here to see some of the fun and learning that has taken place this week.

On Tuesday we celebrated Roald Dahl day and it was a real joy to see that so many of the children had read so many of his books. Please do encourage your child / children to read every day at home. It is also very important to read to your child as it models a love of reading. Thank you.

Some of the children have been retelling stories, some have been learning outside using our school grounds and some of the children have been in the hall learning and developing their gross motor skills through gymnastics.

Our Year Six children had a worthwhile afternoon at Haslingden High School and they loved the calculator rulers they came back with.

On Friday our Year 1 children had the chance to go river walking with Mr Grime. I am sure there will be pictures on our twitter feed later.

Have a fantastic weekend and we look forward to seeing all of those smiling faces on Monday morning.

With respect,

Mr. Neil Ringrose

Thank you and well done!
