Who is Responsible?
The Death of Romeo & Juliet
Is it Friar Laurence or the Family?
The reason why the family is responsible for the death's of Romeo & Juliet is because of the death of Mercutio and Tybalt. Mercutio, who was a Montague, who was Romeo's cousin, and was killed by Tybalt. Tybalt, who was a Capulet, who was Juliet's cousin, and was killed by Romeo. In the story, it was claimed that, "The unlucky manage to this fatal brawl: There lies the man, slain by young Romeo, That slew thy kinsman, brave Mercutio" (Act: 3 Scene: 1). The reason why this quote is the best explanation is because the feud is building up between the Montagues and the Capulets after Mercutio is killed by Tybalt, then Tybalt killed by Romeo,
The second reason why the family is responsible for the death's of Romeo & Juliet is because of the party that the Capulets were having even though Romeo, Benvolio, and Mercutio weren't invited because of they were Montagues, so they sneaked out, and when Romeo discovered Juliet at the party. In the story, Romeo stated, " Did my heart love till now? forswear it, sight! For I ne'er saw true beauty till this night" (Act: 1 Scene:5) when he was talking about Juliet. The reason why this quote is the best explanation is because Romeo sneaked into the party and he discovers Juliet and is attracted to Juliet due to her looks and personality.
Aaliyah - I Refuse
Cause I know I had those moments when I caused the pain
This back and forth just like a war with you and me
See we both disagree, have we ever agreed?
This is nothing like i thought it would be
Was it all just a dream?
Was it ever in my reach?" (Aaliyah ,4)
This quote is talking about the stressful relationship that is going on between a man and a woman that causes a lot of changes, involving hatred, between the two lovers.
The reason why I chose this song and this quote is because this song, " I Refuse By: Aaliyah (Aa-Lee-Yah) is related to Romeo and Juliet when the war between the Montagues and the Capulet was increasing causing multiple hatred between the families that ended to Romeo and Juliet's death.
