What a Week! And More to Come
Our seniors started their end of year activities this week. This past Thursday our seniors had their senior banquet and the Ten Oaks Ballroom in Clarksville. It was a fabulous event where our seniors were able to begin to celebrate their time together here at Blake! Thank you to Ms. Anderson-McMaster and the senior class council on their hard work, planning, and organization making this a memorable event.
This was followed by our Visualizing Blake Arts and Humanities Festival this past Friday night. What an awesome event. Visualizing Blake is a celebration of the amazing work that our staff and students have been doing in many of our signature programs. Our building has been transformed into a museum featuring not only the work of our students, but also the work of students from our feeder middle and elementary schools. We spent Friday evening featuring the work students have done in our arts, music, television production, and fashion design programs. Families were able to enjoy a dinner and there were arts, crafts, demonstrations, and activities for all. I would like to thank our signature program staff and students for an great evening.
This evening we had the opportunity to celebrate and feature more of our talented students. 85 member's our the Blake High School Honors Concert Choir and A CAPPELLA! performed alongside other students from Young Artists of America and the Montgomery County Youth Orchestra in a production of Ragtime at Strathmore.
We have an equally busy week this week that we are looking forward to. We have a Safety and Security Update this Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. in the Amphitheater (see below), report card distribution on Thursday, and our required senior parent meeting Thursday evening at 7:00 in the auditorium.
Let's make this an great week!
