Weekly Activities
- In math this week we continued our work on story problems, groups of 5 and some more and equal vs not equal signs.
- In Science this week we began talking about "Weather". We are learning that there are different kinds of weather and that we need to wear certain clothing to protect our skin and bodies. Next week we will be learning about what causes weather changes and how to chart temperature!
- In writing we continue to learn about what it means to be a writer. We know that writer's continue to write more and more books. Some writer's make a collection of books about a certain topic. For example an author may write a bunch of books about sports or recipes. We also know that diagrams and labels in our pictures can help the reader understand better what we are trying to teach them. We used our writing partners this week to help us finalize a story before beginning a new one!!
- In Language Arts we had a great time focusing on Valentine's Day! We made cards for loved ones and our 4th grade buddies! We also decorated bags for our treats! Later in the week we turned our focus to President's Day. See below the fun activity we did to celebrate the great men who have helped our country grow so far! We talked about what it would be like for us to be president some day and wrote about what we would do if we were elected into office!!
