Thank you to the families who submitted information for our Virtual 9/11 Rally and to the families who were able to join the rally on Friday. If you did not get to join us, we recorded it. Click on the link below to watch it at your convenience.
Virtual 9/11 Rally - 20th Anniversary
PARKING CONCERNS
We continue to receive phone calls from neighbors in our community who have reported parents or carpools blocking driveways preventing our neighbors from taking care of their responsibilities. I realize parents may be on a time crunch when picking their children up after school, but we need to be respectful and avoid blocking someone's driveway. We must all remember the Golden Rule, "Treat people the way you want to be treated." Thank you for your help in maintaining a good relationship with our community.
Additionally, it is critical parents avoid parking in the Staff Parking. We have several staff members who work at more than one school site. They need to be able to have access to parking as well have the ability to leave when needed. I have heard of reports where cars are blocking our employee's cars and the person refuses to move. Please help me ensure our staff can support our students. Thank you!
Thank you for your continued support,
Mrs. Bearden
PARENTS ON CAMPUS
Parents attending pre-arranged meetings, such as parent/teacher conferences, IEP meetings, EL Parent Meetings, as well as School Site Council Meetings do not have to provide vaccination or Negative COVID test results if there are not any students attending the meeting.
Parents, out of safety for everyone, please do not enter campus gates before or after school.
We appreciate your cooperation.
COVID Update
On Friday, September 10th, the school district sent a COVID update with reminders and updates to the COVID procedures. You can read his letter below:
Dear CVUSD Parents and Guardians:
As we head into the weekend, I would like to echo the importance of following safety protocols established to minimize risks to our students, staff, and families amid the COVID-19 pandemic. I would also like to share community resources for testing and available options should your student be asked to self-isolate or quarantine.
AT-HOME HEALTH SCREENINGS
Overall, our students and families have done an outstanding job with wearing face coverings while indoors, practicing proper hand hygiene, and following layered strategies in place to decrease viral transmission. While we continue to work together to support a healthy routine that mitigates positive COVID-19 cases, we must remain vigilant as variants of the virus spread among our population. To that end, please continue to screen your student at home each morning prior to arriving on campus. If your student begins to experience at least one high risk symptom, or two or more low risk symptoms, related to COVID-19, please keep your student at home, consult a healthcare provider, and notify the school office.
Our hardworking Health Services Department has provided a letter outlining common COVID-19 symptoms to screen for that can be found on the District website at https://www.chino.k12.ca.us/Page/21678.
COVID-19 TESTING
Should your student exhibit COVID-19 symptoms or be identified as a first contact according to San Bernardino County Department of Public Health (SBCDPH) contact tracing guidelines, we would like to encourage you to utilize local testing resources to confirm your student’s health status. Available testing locations can be located using the San Bernardino County website at https://sbcovid19.com/testing-sites/.
SHORT-TERM INDEPENDENT STUDY
CVUSD staff understands the importance of limiting disruptions to student learning during this challenging time. Therefore, when a student tests positive for COVID-19, is determined to be a first contact, or exhibits COVID-19 symptoms, and is asked to isolate or quarantine at home for 3 to 14 days, the student’s parent or guardian may request Short-Term Independent Study (STIS) for their student. For questions regarding STIS, parents and guardians are welcomed to connect with their student’s school site.
Thank you to the entire CVUSD school community for its efforts in keeping our schools open and our students on campus for in-person instruction. Rest assured, the health, safety, and well-being of CVUSD students, staff, and community remains our top priority. We will continue to adhere to governing protocols and guidance to ensure we do what we can to protect everyone within the district.
Sincerely,
Norm Enfield, Ed.D.

Drop-Off and Dismissal Traffic -Update - Please Read
BUSSES
We have several busses dropping off and picking up our SDC students. Lately, our busses have not had enough space to park and load students at the curb. Beginning Monday afternoon, our busses will have a Bus Zone assigned for loading and unloading only on the curb near the marquee. Please avoid parking in this area.
YELLOW CURB
As a reminder, the curb in front of the school is painted yellow for loading and unloading only. When cars park in this area, it creates congestion in our traffic flow. Please avoid parking in the yellow zone.
PARKING LOT DRIVEWAY
Students will NOT be allowed to cross the driveway at drop-off and dismissal times. Please be sure to use the pedestrian gates. If you need to go south on Eagle Canyon Drive, please use the pedestrian gate near the apartments. If you need to go north on Eagle Canyon Drive, please use the pedestrian gate near the marquee. If you need to cross the street, it is best to use the pedestrian gate near the marquee so you can access the crosswalk with the crossing guard.
BUS GATE
We have a new procedure at the Bus Gate to ensure students are not crossing in front of cars to get to their parents. TEACHERS WILL ONLY RELEASE STUDENTS OUT OF THE BUS GATE WHEN PARENTS ARE PULLED UP TO THE CURB OR WALK WITH THEIR CHILDREN. Student safety is our top priority before and after school.
Thank you!

If you are waiting for your order to be filled, we received another shipment on Friday. Orders will be filled soon.

Support Eagle Canyon
A popular fundraising opportunity all families can support is Box Tops. Download the Box Top app on your phone. All you have to do is scan your receipts on the Box Top app within 14 days of the purchase. The app will let you know if any of the items purchased qualify. If so, we earn 10 cents per product.
As of today, our school has earned $22.70 this year. Our goal is to earn $1,000.00. If you also get the coupons, please turn them in to the school office. Thank you in advance for your support!
