Liberty Family Newsletter
April and May 2021
Ilka Oberst, Principal and Jeff Rotherham, Assistant Principal
It’s hard to believe how quickly the end of the school year is approaching. Even though this has been such a difficult year for everyone, it's still an exciting time to celebrate the learning that has taken place throughout the year.
Thank you for support this year. Our teachers have worked very hard to help students catch up with learning. Liberty will be hosting Next Level Learning (Summer School) for those students who registered in March. We will be sending home a letter during the first week of May as confirmation. If you are interested in sending your child but he/she is not registered, you can call the office to put them on the waiting list.
As I have shared with you via email, I will be retiring at the end of this school year.
I have loved being part of the Liberty Elementary community. Our dedicated staff, bright students and engaged families make this a very special place. I know that great work will continue.
Our district has begun the process of identifying the next principal for our Liberty Elementary community. Look for more information to come in the weeks ahead. Once that leader is identified, I will work with our team to ensure a strong transition for the year ahead.
I look forward to seeing you at dismissal or in the morning to say good-bye. I am remaining in Omaha and hope to see you around town. Thank you for sending us your amazing children. We are so fortunate to have the best students and families in Omaha!
