Friday Communication
Sem Elementary - Dedicated Everyday in Every Way
A few things
Thanks for a fantastic first week back after the Thanksgiving break! We finished the week off with a fabulous Friday "Sembly" that included a performance from the Maus Middle School Orchestra. In addition, we acknowledged close to 30 students for positive office referrals. A positive office referral is a form that teachers complete for students to be recognized for positive behaviors.
With only two weeks remaining before another break, I wanted to inform you all that we will use the RSVP system again for the winter classroom parties. Please note that you cannot officially RSVP if you have not scanned your license at the school for the 2015-2016 school year. Your license must be scanned every school year. If you have not scanned your license for this school year, I highly encourage you to come to the school to scan your license at the front office in the days leading up to the party day. Also, if you are planning to bring out of town visitors, please ensure they bring some form of photo identification with them on the day of the parties. Remember that it will be very busy so I appreciate your patience in advance. Here is the link to the RSVP and be aware that we will stop all RSVP's on Wednesday, December 16th at noon.
It is with great sadness that I write this, but Nurse Amie Newhouse will be leaving Sem Elementary and moving to Boston, MA. Her husband has accepted a job there and the family is relocating to that area. Nurse Amie's last day at Sem Elementary will be Friday, December 11th. Although we are all heartbroken that she has to leave, we are also happy for her family and wish the best for her during this new chapter in her life. Here is part of a brief message from Nurse Amie: "please know that I have loved each of your children individually and have cared for them as if they were my own. Thank you for sharing them with me for these last few years."
Our replacement for Nurse Amie will be Nurse Rhea (prounounced Ree) McGill. Nurse McGill was in Frisco for 10 years before she moved to Virginia a little over a year ago. She is returning to the area and we are happy to bring her on board at Sem and know that she understands Frisco ISD and the work of the nurses in the district. Nurse McGill will be on campus Tuesday, December 8th to shadow Nurse Amie. She will begin officially on Tuesday, December 15th.
Best,
Mr. Gonzales
HALL
FISD Night with the Texas Legends
The community is invited to join Frisco ISD and the Frisco Education Foundation at the Texas Legends game on Friday, December 11 at Dr Pepper Arena. A portion of ticket sales will benefit the Foundation, which supports FISD through educational programs, student scholarships and grants for educators.
The game will include Frisco ISD themed jerseys and performances by students. An autographed Legends basketball and official Legends game day jersey will go to the FISD campus displaying the most spirit through ticket sales and fans in the stands.
The Texas Legends are a strong supporter of FISD and FEF. Help us pack the house to show how much we appreciate their support! https://www.eventbrite.com/e/frisco-isd-night-tickets-19781830989
