THE IMPORTANCE OF SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL LEARNING (SEL)
Many people are feeling overwhelmed and anxious while dealing with concerns related to COVID and Distance Learning! Effective Social and Emotional Learning Programs are needed now more than ever in our educational systems as we navigate through Distance Learning. Students need to develop five critical SEL skills: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision making skills. The development of SEL skills has many positive benefits that follow students throughout their lives. Our schools play a primary role in developing and practicing both SEL and academic skills in a safe and positive school environment. Under MTSS, it is our primary focus to address the needs of the whole child!
