Star Parents,
Important Information
Author Visit:
- On Monday, January 29th, the author, Taryn Souders will visit our school library. Students may bring a copy of her book to have signed that day. If your child is interested in having a book signed, please visit her website at https://tarynsouders.com to purchase one of her three books. Your child will need to bring their book by Monday morning, January 29th.
100th Day of School Celebration:
- We are so excited to be celebrating the 100th day of school on Thursday, February 1st. We have planned a fun day where the children will experience 100 through many different activities. To help us visualize what 100 objects look like, we are asking that each child decorate a plain t-shirt or make a poster with 100 items on it.
PTA:
- A BIG shout out to our wonderful PTA. Our amazing PTA purchased new equipment for our children to use at recess and new toys for our children to play with at Big Centers. Our Kindergarteners are going to have so much fun playing with our new things. Thank you so much for your generosity.
Save the Date:
- Please mark your calendar for our middle of the year parent-teacher conferences. Ms. Bruce's conferences will be on Thursday, February 8th and Mrs. Oberschlake's conferences will be on Friday, February 9th. We will send home a reminder for your conference time next week. Please keep in mind that we will have school on our conference days.
Outdoor Recess:
- Please make sure your child brings a jacket, hat, scarf, and gloves to school. We will go outside for recess unless it's below freezing.
Lunch:
- Our new lunch time is from 11:45-12:15. Please make sure all lunches are in the red crate by 11:40. Thank you!
Technology
- Has your child been logging into webdesk.pisd.edu at home? Students can access academic games and activities through the Webdesk website. To login, simply go to "webdesk.pisd.edu". Students login using their Plano ISD email account "firstname.lastname.1@mypisd.net" and enter the password Red.1234.
- Once logged in, click on the "My Class" icon at the bottom of the page. Select "My Class" on the next page followed by "Apps" located on the left hand side of the webpage.
- Students can access great apps such as Dreambox or Teach Your Monster to Read from home. These are great resources that can help your child work on their math and reading skills at home!
