MOMENT IN BLACK HISTORY...

Big picture

The original speech [that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. gave] was more political and less historic, according to Clarence B. Jones, and it did not include any reference to dreams. After delivering the now-famous line, “we are not satisfied, and we will not be satisfied until justice rolls down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream,” Dr. King transformed his speech into a sermon.

ATTENTION ALL MIDDLEBURY FAMILIES!!!

Yes-- the weather outside is FRIGID!! However, we must continue to maintain a strong momentum towards academic growth during our second semester! With that being said, we are collecting all available data to determine our scholars' current performance levels. This information guides us in making informed decisions about classroom instruction, small group interventions, and enrichment opportunities.

Therefore, we are asking all of our families to make sure that your scholar has taken the NWEA MAP Assessment and their scores have been accounted for. It is imperative that we have the most current, comprehensive data to inform us on what revisions are needed to be made in order to support our scholars in reaching their scholastics goals.

For our families who are unable to come on campus, have health barriers, or just reservations due to the Pandemic, we now offer the option of NWEA Remote Testing. If you would be interested in having your scholar test remotely, please give us a call at 330.752.2766 to make arrangements.

Let us work in tandem in ensuring that NO SCHOLAR goes untested!

Thank you in advance for your support!

In education,

Ms. Woods-Wallace, M.Ed.

NWEA is committed to supporting every partner. MAP Growth... offers significant value in identifying what students are ready to learn. MAP Accelerator provides a way to develop personalized learning pathways that fit individual student needs.

Parental Access to Reports and Progress Reports

Effective, last Thursday, February 4, 2021, Middlebury passed out report cards and mailed the remaining report cards out to our families. Beyond receiving report cards in the mail, you also have access to report cards and daily performance updates through the parent portal of Progressbook. Below you will find instructions on setting up a PARENT PORTAL through the Progressbook.

Also, 3rd Quarter Progress reports will be available to you on-line starting on February 12, 2021, after 5 p.m. This is a chance to see exactly your scholar's current status in each class, missing assignments, and determine if you would like to have a conference with his or her teacher(s).

If you run into any problems and or need assistance with setting up your account, please contact the school at 330.752.2766.

Middlebury Academy is a tuition-free elementary charter school located in Akron, Ohio. We opened in August 2013, serving scholars in grades K-8. Middlebury places high importance on safety and civility. These are core to having a good learning environment and building character.

We have a project-based learning curriculum philosophy that incorporates new and emerging practices and technologies, such as chromebooks and tablets. We view the entire world as our classroom and will have a variety of face-to-face, virtual and other learning activities outside of the school.
