From a Bill to a Law
The Law Making Process
First step
First people just think that it should be a law. They talk to their local congressman and if he approves than he will write out the bill and introduce it to congress.
Second Step
The Bill will be put in the right committee, then they will discuss and debate on the Bill to decide whether it should be a law.
If they vote favorably
It goes to the House of Representatives
They vote on the Bill and if majority rules in favor of the Bill..
It goes to the Senate
And the process repeats, they vote on the Bill and if they vote favorably....
Then it is sent to the President
The President can either sign the bill to make it a Law or veto it by not signing it.
