Can you believe our last week of school is upon us? Our Montgomery students from the Class of 2022 took a walk in the past on Wednesday as they come back to where it all began. It was so nice to see all of their familiar faces chatting with our students and reminiscing with the teachers they had back in the day.
This is a great week to do some of those fun enrichment activities that we may have put off in order to fit in all that is required. I'm sure we will be making some memories this week as our school year comes to an end.
Best,
Amy

NEWS FROM MRS. MESSER
Dear Parents and Families,
I’m sending my sincere gratitude for making our Book Fair an outstanding success!
Thanks to your contributions, students went home with their very own books, AND we raised over $2000.00 for our school library. All proceeds will be used to purchase new library books!
My personal reward for hosting a Book Fair is watching your kids excitement over books and reading. All that joy wouldn’t be possible without the many parents who took time to come to school AND the volunteers who helped in so many ways – you deserve my special thanks.
Here at Montgomery Elementary, we love putting books into the hands of our students. The "Free Little Library" helps make that a reality for all. Keep this in mind when you are cleaning out shelves at home this summer. We are always taking donations for gently used, elementary appropriate books. I will be spending quite a bit of time at the school over the summer, so feel free to leave donations, clearly marked, at the front door near our healthy drop box any time.
This fall Montgomery Elementary will restart their Girls on The Run Team! Girls on the Run is open to all girls in 3rd and 4th grade who would like to learn more about self confidence while also training for a 5k. The team will practice Mondays and Thursdays after school until 5:30pm. Training starts on September 12th and will celebrate with an end of season 5k at Yeatmen's Cove on November 19th. The cost is $165 with financial aid available. Sign ups will be available the week of Aug 22nd with more information to come in future S'mores. If you have any questions please see https://www.gotrcincinnati.org/ or email Maria Wysong at maria.wysong@gmail.com
Dear Montgomery Families,
It's hard to believe that there's only one more week of school! Thank you to everyone for your help this year. We are excited for next year and the opportunities that will be available with a projected normal start to the school year.
If you're not currently a member of the PTO please consider signing up by clicking HERE. You can get a head start on next year and there are no fees to membership. Aside from being involved with the school, the next biggest benefit is access to the directory via the Directory Spot app. This is updated every year based on information submitted with Final Forms.
To our members, please keep an eye out for direct correspondence from MTPTO@Sycamoreschools.org for information on volunteer opportunities, surveys, and other ways you can be involved. This will hit inboxes during the summer months and into next school year.
Lastly, click HERE for the PTO Home page and links to prior meetings and support materials.
Have a great weekend and a great summer!
Kristofer Johnston
Montgomery PTO President
Free Meal Waivers Expire June 3, 2022
Sycamore Child Nutrition will return to pre-pandemic operations, which include charging for student meals, at the start of the 2022-23 school year.
For the past two years, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has offered waivers to Child Nutrition (CN) Programs across the United States, allowing these programs to offer all students breakfast and lunch, at no charge. These waivers will expire June 3 and will not be renewed for CN programs nationally.
Families who qualify for free and reduced meals based on the income of all family members will once again be asked to complete and submit a current school year Free and Reduced Meal Application. Please look for more information after July 1 when the application period opens.
