Principal's Message
Here we go! Heading into the last term of school with spring in the air!
Term 3 report cards were released on the Edsby app/website Friday, April 28th. Be sure to check out the comments from teachers and reach out to them if you have questions or concerns. Let’s work together to get everyone through their classes with as much success as possible.
Thank you for all the interest that our table at the Rambler trade fair roused up for our Natural Playscape project. The Beeland Coop has donated $10,000 and Chupa’s Trucking & Excavation will be donating significant time and product to the hill needed to sculpt the outdoor amphitheatre – our first phase of this dream project. We hope to get started this spring. We are about halfway to the total we need for the amphitheatre.
Congratulations to the Tornado teams and clubs who’ve been busy in April. Coach Dancey hosted junior NESSAC badminton after a very successful season. Our archery team was very competitive at the provincial competition at Moose Jaw with Mr. Lam Ma coaching and our drama club also did well at the drama festival in Melfort with the guidance of Mrs. Andris and Mrs. Janzen. And our track team is well underway with their indoor fitness training and ready to get outdoors to practice with a host of teachers helping coach but with Mr. Brinklow leading the way.
Our school has been a popular place for different institutions and organizations wanting to present to youth. We have informal noon hour presentations by police services and St. Pete’s College from Muenster all wanting to recruit in May. There are a lot of opportunities out there if students are looking for work and/or training.

Thank You, BEELAND CO-OP!
TMSS would like to acknowledge Beeland Co-op Grocery for their significant donation of $10,000 to the TMSS Natural Playscape Project!
Beeland Co-op took the initiative to collect the fees charged for plastic grocery bags and donate those funds towards an outdoor project, in honor of upcoming Earth Day. This generous donation will go towards the outdoor amphitheatre which is an integral feature of the Playscape project.
TMSS is very grateful for this donation! Representatives Todd Svenson and Nikki Anderson visited our school on Wednesday to present the cheque for $10,000 which was accepted by our Vice Principal Dallas Thiessen, our Principal Mrs. Carmen Messer, and Lynn Murray who are all on the Playscape fundraising committee. Also pictured here are students from our SRC.
Thank you, Beeland Co-op for supporting this important project which will benefit not only our students but our entire community!
TMSS G.R.I.T. Awards
Congratulations, Katelyn Turcotte, on being this month’s grade 7 GRIT award winner. Katelyn sets high academic standards for herself and works hard to achieve her goals. Katelyn is very dedicated to getting her work in on time and using feedback to improve her work. She is always ready for a challenge in class and demonstrates persistence until she has mastered the skill. Katelyn is a role model for togetherness as she shows kindness to her peers and is very cooperative in group work. Keep up the great work, Katelyn!
Congratulations to this month's Grade 8 GRIT award winner, Dayna Hamilton! Dayna is such a lovely student to teach. She works hard on her assignments, asks thoughtful questions, is a kind classmate, and knows how to balance her schoolwork with her busy sports schedule! This has shown us that she possesses true GRIT! Dayna’s positive attitude and easy-going demeanor are a welcomed attribute in the classroom. So glad you became part of our Tornado family this year, Dayna :)
The grade 9 GRIT shout-out for this month goes to Ryder Bleile. Ryder is a hardworking individual who puts his all into everything he does. He works hard in his athletics and his academics. Ryder was recently named the MVP for the U15 Ramblers but that never interfered with him going above and beyond in the classroom to maintain his above-average grades. Ryder is a pleasure to have in class and his work ethic will take him a long way in life.
This month's grade 10 shout out goes to Jaxon Kehrig! He has managed playing AAA hockey and his course load and being in his first year of high school, very well! He has persevered through tough units, busy times, all while balancing his personal life, athletic life, and academic life. You are showing the rest of your grade and the rest of the high school that it IS possible. Thanks for being positive and willing to take on challenges every single day, Jaxon!
The grade 11 GRIT award for April goes out to Hannah Schreiner. Hannah is a very hard worker and always has a smile for everyone. Hannah is an integral part of the TMSS drama group. She works hard to know her role and is eager to help others. She always has unique and interesting questions and perspectives in class. If she misses school, she shows resilience by working extra hard to catch up. Hannah can often be found at the end of day, staying behind to put up extra chairs. Hannah shows all aspects of TMSS GRIT.
This month’s Grade 12 GRIT Award goes to McKenzie Squires. Mackenzie is a conscientious and dedicated student. She works hard in all her classes and seeks out extra help when needed. She is always kind, considerate and willing to help others. You rarely see her without a smile on her face! Mackenzie recently won the High School Girls 3D Target Provincial Championship. We are proud of you Mackenzie. Keep up the good work!

Thank you, Ava for bringing awareness and visibility to this issue!
