National School Psychology Week (7-11)
National School Psychology Week, sponsored by the National School Psychologists Association (NSPA), is observed annually during the second week of November.
National School Psychology Week is a time to engage in discussions to help create the connections necessary for students to develop critical academic and social emotional skills.
Please help us thank our AMAZING BHS school psychologists Anna Page, Jane Martinez, and Angelica Diaz. You make BHS a better place for us ALL!
BHS Veterans' Day Celebration--Thurs., 11/10, at lunch in the Quad
Burbank High School is proud to host and honor some of the bravest Bulldogs in our 114 year history. In honor of Veteran’s Day, BHS will induct our first group of BHS Alumni into our Bravest Bulldogs Wall of Heroes.
On November 10th, during lunch, BHS will honor these heroes along with former US Ambassador Jon Glassman (‘61) and PFC Walter Collier who was Killed In Action aboard the USS Oklahoma at Pearl Harbor in December 1941. We are honored to have with us, Burbank dignitaries, the US Marines Corp, and the family of today’s special honoree, PFC Walter Collier.
One of the ways Burbank High is honoring our Bravest Bulldogs is through a large donation to the Wounded Warriors Project, which assists our soldiers who gave so much, including sight, limbs, and much more in defense of our freedoms and liberties that we enjoy each day. We will also be marking this day by unveiling our Bravest Bulldog plaque with the names of ten Bulldogs who served America faithfully, some in wartime, some in peace but all with pride. Along with these ten, we are honoring PFC Walter Collier and Ambassador Jon Glassman with special plaques to honor their service and sacrifice during some of America’s most trying times and doing so with such distinction that America and Burbank High are better places because of them.
We look forward to having you all join us next Thursday, 11/10 at lunch in the quad and God Bless our servicemen and women and the nation they serve!

Environmental Youth Summit

The Youth Summit is an opportunity to bring students from across Los Angeles County to showcase the environmental service learning projects they carried out with Generation earth that incorporated Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Rethink, Organics Management, Household Hazardous Waste, Stormwater Pollution Prevention and water conservation topics. It’s a time to highlight those projects as well as an opportunity to learn from your peers.
The goal of the committee is to:
● Empower students to design a structure of how the Youth Summit will look.
● Advise Generation Earth on the content appropriate for and of interest to the attendees.
● Collaborate with other committee members to invite panelists, create content and facilitate conversations with middle/high school students all over Los Angeles county.
● Encourage participants to carry out Environmental Service Learning Projects in their schools.
● Share ideas of how to become engaged in environmental issues such as water and waste.
