Message from the Principal, Dr. Maguire
Last night's Class of 2023 Talent Show fundraiser was an amazing experience. The students and staff who participated were indeed quite talented and entertained the audience with their acts. It was so nice to see both those participating and those supporting the event.
Coming up next week, there will be a Club Carnival as part of Homecoming Week and the following week is the SHS Fall Concert.
These types of events build spirit and shared experiences help our students connect and build memories.
I was so glad to be at the show last night, and hope that this and other efforts like the clubs carnival, the fall concert, and the homecoming dance are ones that continue to grow here at SHS. Our students deserve time and opportunity to be together, be teenagers, and have fun, as well as have the opportunity to share their talents and passions with our school community.
Enjoy the long weekend.
Your partner in education,
Dr. Maguire

We are so excited about our first Homecoming Week- our students and staff have been busy preparing for the festivities! From home games to Club Carnival and of course the big finale, our Homecoming Semiformal Dance on Saturday night from 6pm to 8pm. We are transforming the large gym into our main room dance floor and having activities for students in the small gym as well as the courtyard. We want to remind all our students that bags are discouraged but if brought will be searched. We ask students to refrain from bringing water bottles- we will have plenty of water on hand for consumption. Lastly, none of this would have been possible without a generous donations from the Scituate Gridiron Club and Mr. and Mrs. Sullivan- you all are amazing and we thank you!

Practice ACT exam
The Counseling Department has teamed up with Revolution Prep to offer a practice ACT exam
This is a great chance to get started on your testing plan, or if you have already started, it will provide additional practice. Taking practice tests under timed conditions is essential to being ready for the official test. A proctored practice exam will help your child build testing endurance and give a real-time snapshot of their testing performance. See Scituate ACT flyer [4].pdf.

PEAR Tip of the Week
Belonging:
With a focus on supporting students, addressing learning loss, and creating new systems and structures it can be easy for our personal relationships to take a back seat. However, when we have social time, chances to see friends and family, to feel supported and listened to, or just to have fun we will be better able to meet our students’ needs. If making last minute type plans is difficult, try setting up some regular, scheduled times to spend with people in your life. Call a friend each Thursday on your way home from work, designate a day of the week to eat dinner with your partner or family, or set up a monthly brunch with friends. Having a set schedule takes the pressure off making plans, gives you something to look forward to, and helps you show up for your students more fully.
