Halloween
We wrapped this week up (and the last week of the quarter ) with some spooky crafts that reinforced the concepts we were working on. If you do go trick or treating-be safe and have fun. I hope the weather is beautiful. A fun activity to do with your Halloween candy is to sort it--come up with different categories like chocolate, sour, peanuts, etc...and while you are sorting, keep in mind that Mrs. Hall loves Butterfingers...just saying...
ps..Thanks to Hailey and Izzy for bringing in Halloween bags. It was an unexpected surprise!
Rhyme Time
As a class building activity, each child received a card with a picture on it. Their task was to find someone who had a matching rhyming picture. Harmony and Madelyn have flag and bag. They had to come up with a silly sentence before we started reading.
Franken-sight words
We thought it might be a fun way to practice our word wall words with the help of a monster. We had to listen to the directions on how to assemble Frankenstein and then we had to write as many sight words that would fit on his legs. I bet we will remember how to spell this words!
Scary spider math
Students designed a spider with the rule of having four addition problems and 4 subtraction problems. Many used the flip flop (commutative property of addition) and others noticed fact family patterns...Yeah!
Book Fair
We took a little time out to visit the book fair and make our wish lists. If you weren't able to purchase books, you can still do so online.
Technology
We are practicing recording each other giving a book review. We filled out a graphic organizer and practiced what we wanted to say then our partner recorded us. These will be up on Seesaw in the next few weeks.
Buddies
Who doesn't love a hidden picture?--especially working on it with our 5th grade buddies.
Top Dog
Dillon was the Top Dog. He love pizza. He is pawsome at drawing and having fun! He wants to be a police officer when he grows up!
Doggy Bag
1. Report cards will be going home on November 14th.
2. We are in need of markers and glue sticks. if you can donate these items it would be appreciated. I'm pleased that we made it through one quarter with most of our supplies intact!
