FBMS - Staying Connected and Engaged March 17, 2020
A Message from Mr. Madden
I hope everyone is healthy, safe, and doing well. I know that teachers have been reaching out with assignments and work to maintain skills and concepts that have been taught this year, as well as, provide opportunities to continue work habits which will make the transition back to school easier. I would also encourage families to use this time to step back from the craziness that surrounds us right now and draw closer to what is important. Take time to play a game or two (three or four even) with our kids, read a book, write a note to someone, watch a movie, learn a new skill or try out a new hobby on youtube.com. Use this time to draw closer together.
Remember FBMS our theme for the year (which could NOT be more appropriate) we are #FBMS-StrongerTogether!

What to do with yourself for the next couple of weeks?
Obviously you should be working on the opportunites your teachers will be providing over the next 3 weeks. As a former PE teacher and a person who likes to bike, fish, run, play basketball, and go to the gym, exercise is something that the whole family can enjoy together over the next few weeks to stay healthy and reduce stress.
If the weather doesn't allow for outside activity and you don't belong to a gym, there are many workouts online that can be done at home and don't require equipment.
Other ways to get some exercise:
1. YOGA
2. GO FOR A HIKE
3. PRACTICE YOUR FAVORITE SPORTS SKILLS
4. GO FOR A WALK/RUN (take the dog too)
5. RIDE YOUR BIKE, SKATEBOARD OR ROLLERBLADE
6. HOLD INDOOR OLYMPICS
7. TURN UP THE MUSIC AND DANCE LIKE NO ONE IS WATCHING
8. MAKE AN OBSTACLE COURSE
If you do something today please share it with us on the FBMS Twitter feed and tag @FBMSPPAL and use the hashtag #FBMS_StrongerTogether
Here is a link to a weekly fitness log if anyone turns in a completed week while we are out of school you will be entered into a drawing for a $10 Starbucks gift card.

Tomorrow will be our first art class. 2 pm ET at youtube.com/StudioJJK. You won’t need anything fancy. Some paper, a pencil. Maybe a marker. As we go along—and I plan to keep this going as long as we need—I may work in color lessons. (Color pencils, watercolor.) And definitely incorporating writing lessons. And will read aloud some too. I’ll also offer art games that grown-ups and kids could play together. And remember—you can rewatch later so you can replay and pause as much as you’d like!
