Gandhi and The Salt March

India was originally in a rights crisis involving the native people of India. The crisis was over the treatment of Indians compared to Brits in the problem of taxes, one of these bigger causes of the Indian revolution was the tax on salt.
The March
- The Indians marched 12 miles a day on rugged dusty roads
- It began on march 2nd
- By April 5th Gandhi was followed by thousands
- He encouraged Indians to make their own salt, to rebel against Britain
outcome
- Gandhi accomplished making fair paying jobs for Indians
- This victory is a key part of the later Indian Revolution
- This is used as a great example of peaceful protest
