Mrs. Pfeifer's News and Notes
February 1-5, 2015
Here are a few things about the week ahead:
- New Words Their Way Lists came home today
- There will be two Wizard of Oz novels being read. Students have been grouped according to NWEA scores. They will either be with Mrs. Pfeifer or Mrs. Stillions for the novel study (approx. 2 weeks). If they do not finish their work in class, they will bring it home to finish for homework. Books MUST be returned to school the next day.
- NIFS Field Trip on Thursday, 2/4. Please have your child wear PE clothes and tennis shoes.
- Exciting news revealed today: Students in Mrs. Pfeifer's class will be spending this month planning and creating Urban, Suburban and Rural communities for Boxtown. Our class, however, will be using MineCraft Edu to create our "Blockstown" communities. Students have been grouped, and will each be contributing to a group of 4 to build their assigned community in creative mode. We are VERY excited for this venture, and to show off our world to you in March. Please let me know if you have any questions about this.

Just a reminder that our word of the month is "Teamwork" and we will be doing a lot of that with our upcoming project in MinecraftEdu. Please encourage your child to practice being a team player :).
