Pine Road Express
Pine Road Grows Great Kids
May 27th, 2021
A MESSAGE FROM MR. COLE
Pine Road Families,
It is difficult to believe that this is the penultimate Express for the 2020-2021 school year! While this school year has provided challenges for us all, I am proud of the resiliency, bravery, and perseverance we have shown as a school community. In a year of ever-shifting regulations and the stress of a global pandemic, we have consistently risen to the occasion and demonstrated that #weareMORE.
As we conclude the year, you will see in this issue of the Express that we have many upcoming opportunities to celebrate our students and the school year’s conclusion. One of the hallmark events will be the 5th Grade Moving Up Ceremony.
Lastly, We are planning to host an Open House in June for our returning Virtual Learners. We are (tentatively) planning for June 23rd but will communicate details once they are finalized!
Sincerely,
Scott Cole
Principal

Coming soon: Virtual District Art Festival
As we conclude our historic school year, we are pleased to present you with a virtual tour of our Lower Moreland students' artistic successes. Art classes K-12 had unusual challenges in the virtual/hybrid/in-person models. But like the great creatives we are, students and teachers embraced those challenges and came up with creative solutions. Expressing ourselves has never been more important than in this year of uncertainty. It was a welcomed outlet for most students, and we are so proud of the work we were able to create on a variety of platforms. Please join us in celebrating our k-12 artist district art show premiering on June 1st!
Look out for more information and a link to the art show in a few days!

Car Line Protocol
- Adults should not exit vehicles. We have staff that is fully prepared to assist students safely entering and exiting vehicles.
- Unless directed by school staff, please do not pass other cars in the car line. This can create dangerous situations.
- While waiting on Pine Road to enter the loop, please ensure you are not blocking our side streets.
- Please have your car-line name tag clearly displayed. If you need a tag, please ask Mr. Radway as he is checking you in, and we can ensure you receive one.
- It is the expectation that parents follow the guidance of our crossing guard. She is crucial in managing a heavy volume of traffic please comply, respectfully, with her direction.
- Please ensure that you are not impeding traffic entering onto Pine Road from Byberry or County Line
- Please avoid arriving at the car line before 3:05 pm. Early arrivals contribute to traffic concerns on Pine Road. Our team is extremely efficient at dismissing students and the extreme back up only serves to lengthen the dismissal window.

As we move into Tax Season, we invite you to learn more on how you can decrease your Tax Liability while investing in your school. If you own a business or work for a company in the state of Pennsylvania, now is the time to act. Through Education Tax Improvement Credit Program, businesses can donate up to $750,000 each year to EITC-eligible organizations, and then claim 75 percent of that donation as a credit that offsets their state tax bill. Counselors' Corner
It is hard to believe there are only about five weeks of school to go! With some fun activities ahead and recess looking a little closer to the old days, please speak with your children about practicing our Pine Road Pillars (respect, responsibility, honesty, and kindness) with their words and actions. They are so excited to be interacting in-person with their peers again, but after a year of little in-person socialization, we're noticing that frequent reminders for and reinforcement of expected behaviors has been necessary and helpful.
If you are interested in learning more about parenting during these difficult times, please consider joining Dr. Ken Ginsburg for his Zoom presentation, "Parenting in an Age of Uncertainty." Dr. Ginsburg is a CHOP physician and a renowned author and advisor on adolescence and resiliency.
Lastly, we sent out an email via ConnectEd on 5/7/21. If you have not had a chance to see that, you can read our note by clicking HERE.
Have a great day,
Mrs. Dallahan & Ms. Harris
