New Mural
Local artist, Julie law, came back this summer to brighten up another hallway at Phillips. This mural is located in the back of the building where many students gather for PE, recess, and to load buses.
Inservice Week
We were super busy during the days of Inservice preparing to open our new campus. We spent time getting to know one another and preparing our classrooms. Time was spent analyzing STAAR scores and targeting ways we could improve. Writing is expected through all content areas in all grade levels this year as we try to strengthen composition writing for our students.
PTO
We had a PTO interest meeting on August 27. About 25 parents were in attendance. There were many 1st grade parents that attended and wanted to get involved in their new school. We elected board members for our PTO and planned our third annual PTO Fall Festival for October 25.
We Are Phillips!
This year our slogan is all about campus pride. Our vision with this slogan is for all stakeholders to be proud and excited about being a part of Phillips Elementary. We are saying this Morning Mantra every morning on the announcements and wearing shirts with the slogan. It is sparking a renewed enthusiasm for our campus and our vision for the future.
We have the responsibility to make our world a better place,
one person, one action at a time.
If it’s not kind, don’t do it.
If it’s not true, don’t say it.
Choose to be kind.
We Are PHILLIPS!
