Message from the Principal- Parent Teacher Conferences
I hope this newsletter finds you well. As a parent of a student at Mission View Elementary, I wanted to take a moment to express the significance of parent-teacher conferences and encourage active participation in this valuable opportunity for communication and collaboration.
Parent-teacher conferences provide a unique platform for parents and educators to come together to discuss the academic progress, social development, and overall well-being of the students. These conferences offer insights into the challenges and successes our children are experiencing in the classroom, fostering a sense of partnership between home and school.
Here are a few reasons why attending parent-teacher conferences is crucial:
Understanding Your Child's Progress: Conferences provide a personalized overview of your child's academic performance, strengths, and areas that may need improvement. This insight enables parents to actively support their child's educational journey.
Building a Strong Partnership: Collaboration between parents and teachers is essential for a child's success. By attending conferences, we strengthen the connection between home and school, creating a supportive network for our children.
Addressing Concerns: Conferences offer a safe space to discuss any concerns or questions you may have about your child's education. Open communication is key to resolving challenges and ensuring a positive learning experience.
Setting Goals: Together with teachers, parents can set realistic and achievable goals for their children. These goals help guide students towards academic success and personal growth.
Showing Your Child You Care: Your presence at parent-teacher conferences sends a powerful message to your child – that you are actively engaged in their education and invested in their future.
To facilitate participation, the school has dedicated February 8th and 9th for Parent-Teacher conferences. Students will be dismissed at 11:40 on these two dates to provide time for to meet with your child's teacher. Please take advantage of this opportunity to meet with your child's teacher.
Family Math Night
Please join us on February 13, 5:00-6:30 pm for our Family Math Night . Teachers will provide fun and easy ways to practice math skills at home. We will also be offering FREE bike repairs during this time, courtesy of Living Streets Alliance. Please send in your RSVP!

Counselor Corner
This month’s focus is Cooperation. One way to think about Cooperation is “working together to reach shared goals.” As a family, talk about how this definition applies to how you work together at home. What are some goals you share? Cooperation is 1 of 3 traits we will focus on throughout the year that helps students Be Kind. Throughout the school, students will be developing skills like perspective-taking, conflict resolution, and leadership. Lunch bunch groups will continue to work weekly on skills to help them better manage their feelings. Have an amazing month and thank you for being part of your child's journey.
