Throughout the first weeks of school, TCES teachers are teaching, modeling, and providing opportunities for our students to practice how to be respectful, responsible, and safe in all areas of our school: TCES Behavior Matrix.
We encourage you to ask your child about TC tickets and our school-wide expectations!
Volunteers, Visitors, and Field Trips
TCES welcomes volunteers to the building. In order to volunteer, you must:
- Be a registered and approved volunteer.
- Sign in at the office and indicate your destination.
- Adhere to all school and system policies.

We are currently unable to accommodate visitors. This includes visitors to the cafeteria.

*Pre-K families are encouraged to drop students off as close to 9:00 am as possible.

When Should I Keep My Child Home?
- a temperature of 100.4 degrees or higher (without fever-reducing medication)
- throwing up or diarrhea within 24 hours
- pink and crusty eye(s)
- COVID-like symptoms
Your concern for the well-being and the health of our entire school is greatly appreciated!
Our nurse, Carole Tatman, is available to answer your questions! She is also our school liaison with the SMCPS Supervisor of Nursing. As we navigate the return of all of our students, we appreciate your close communication. Please do not hesitate to call if you have ANY questions about your child's health needs.

Birthday Celebrations
Ms. Maier, our school counselor, creates a monthly birthday bulletin board celebrating our students' birthdays. Names of students celebrating a birthday are shared over our daily morning announcements.
Families and students are welcome to provide non-edible treats/trinkets to all classmates in recognition of birthdays. Please coordinate this with your child's teacher and provide enough for every student on the class list.
