Please use the following guidelines when submitting events for the Campus Events Newsletter:
All events should be submitted to www.knox.edu/addevent. If you would like an image included, please upload it when submitting your event online. In order to ensure your event is included in the newsletter, please complete your submission at least one week prior to the Monday Newsletter you would like your event to appear in. Earlier submissions are encouraged!

The Long Twentieth Century

"The Long Twentieth Century: Modern and Contemporary Works from the Knox College Permanent Collection"
This exhibition was curated by students in Art Museum Curating. The exhibit includes major modern and contemporary art from the Permanent Collection of Knox College and examines the ongoing importance and relevance of modernist aesthetics and concepts in contemporary culture.

Kiran Oomen is a college student from Eugene, Oregon who is part of the group of youth suing the government as part of the Juliana v. the U.S. case. The goal of the case is to pressure the government into protecting the resources of future generations and reducing its actions that contribute to climate change.
Kiran will be talking about his activism and about being involved in this groundbreaking case.

Winter Jazz Series Workshop

The workshop will show how to play Brazilian percussion instruments, including the drums, shakers and bells. Attendees will have the chance to participate in a traditional Brazilian Batucada, a sub-style of samba drumming. No musical experience or background is required and is open to all ages.

Brazilian singer and guitarist Luciano Antonio returns to Knox to present two free public events at Knox College.
The workshop will show how to play Brazilian percussion instruments, including the drums, shakers and bells. Attendees will have the chance to participate in a traditional Brazilian Batucada, a sub-style of samba drumming. No musical experience or background is required and is open to all ages.
Luciano Antonio's work as a guitarist and singer showcases a contemporary jazz interpretation of traditional Brazilian folk music. A native of rural southern Brazil, he performs throughout the Chicago area and across the country.
