Today wraps up the second full week of school. All students and teachers are beginning to settle into their new routines. Fall sports are in full swing. There are many opportunities for you to watch our students showcase their talents. I encourage you to come out and support these students. The Glasscock County ISD Approved Tax Rate for the 2023-2024 School year is as follows:

Maintenance and Operations: $0.6992

Interest and Sinking (Bond Payment): $0.0708

Total Tax Rate: $0.77

This is a $0.19 decrease for last years rate of $0.96.

The decrease in rate is largely due to the the new legislation decreasing property taxes.

On Friday, September 8th, we invite all Grandparents to come eat breakfast and/or lunch at GCISD!

Mrs. Eubanks, our school counselor, will be introducing Ruby , a therapy dog in training, to our students and staff this school year. Both Ruby and Mrs. Eubanks will be receiving training on how to implement Ruby into our school. We believe dogs add value to situations where students need therapeutic intervention.

Our Ag students have been busy in the shop. Many of them are working on Ag Mech projects that will be entered in contests this winter.
