The Respiratory System!
BY GRACE AND SHARA
Your soft breathing as you settle down for a long winters nap...
Little do you know that your Respiratory System is hard at work! Your intake of breath keeps your lungs firmly alert, even if you're fast asleep. Like a fire, which needs oxygen to burn, your cells need breathing so they cannot "burn" enough substance to keep you alive without oxygen. Respiration and breathing are two different things. Respiration, as we have learned before, helps you gain energy. Breathing is simply the movement of air in and out through the lungs. The Respiratory system, believe it or not, is connected to the digestive system; the Circulatory System carries both oxygen from your lungs and glucose from food and carries it to your cells.
More about the Respiratory System :D
Breathing
When you inhale, air flows through you mouth then to your lungs which expands, then the diaphragm contracts.
Oxygen is the most important part of the respiratory system
Oxygen is needed throughout the whole body.
The basic function of the respiratory system
The main function of the respiratory system is to deliver the blood with oxygen so that blood can be given to the rest of the body. The respiratory system does this through breathing.
