MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
After a busy and successful autumn term at Uxbridge High School, I would like to take the opportunity to wish all students, parents, staff and governors a very happy Christmas and new year. This newsletter includes a selection of our Christmas events and details of arrangements for the end and start of term.
The governing body have an upcoming vacancy for a parent governor. The school and governors would welcome your interest and application for supporting the school by serving on the governing body. If you are interested in applying to be a parent governor, full details on the process for application and the role will be sent out in the newsletter in the new year.
END OF TERM ARRANGEMENTS
Uxbridge High School will close on Wednesday 19th December at 11.40am.
School will re-open on Monday 7th January at 10.55am with students going straight to morning registration or Lancaster assembly. Normal lessons will begin from period 3.
On Tuesday, students enjoyed a traditional Christmas lunch of roast turkey or vegetable wellington. Students enjoyed the Christmas celebrations, with festive music and decorations.
Thank you to the hospitality and catering students who voluntarily offered to help to prepare all of the vegetables, as part of the UHS Takeover Day.
Parents, staff, students and governors enjoyed an evening of festive entertainment at the UHS Winter Showcase on Tuesday 11th December, with a fantastic variety of acts including choirs, bands, solo performances and duets.
SIXTH FORM APPLICATIONS
Students can apply for our sixth form online, using the link below.
Students should pick subjects based on their GCSE grades and their future aspirations. The deadline for applications is 10th January. Interviews will then take place from 14th January.
