Mrs. Eske's Team: Building Leaders
4th Grade Newsletter // April 3-7
From the Desk of Mrs. Eske:
Happy Monday!! I hope that everyone enjoyed their weekend! We are off to a fantastic start to fourth quarter!! So far, we have earned 3 "4's" in a row for specials and have had multiple "3's" in specials, and in the lunchroom as well! Book clubs and small guided reading groups are also off to an incredibly impressive start. We will still continue to work on specific skill practice concepts, based on student iReady results, and continue to practice fluency and expression with Reader's Theater. But, I have loved being able to get back to meeting with students in our brand new guided reading groups!! We have been spending quite a lot of time digging deeper into our chapter books and applying those skills that we worked so hard on during third quarter.
I also appreciate all of the signed grade card envelopes that I have received back so far!!! If students have not returned their signed grade card envelope, please have them do so as soon as possible. Thank you!
We have many fun opportunities for field trips and fun during 4th Quarter, and I am extremely excited for this time of the year! I have encouraged students to be on their best behavior and make sure that they are doing their best on their school work and getting assignments finished. Then we can all enjoy these wonderful events together.
We do have a Leadership Assembly on Friday and I can't wait to recognize our new Leaders of the Month for March! If your child has not been a Leader of the Month, I would love for them to be recognized for the month of April!! I know this is going to be our best quarter ever and I appreciate all you do! In addition to the fun events, we also have some important testing dates coming up. We will be taking the MAP (Missouri Assessment Test) during the week of April 24th-28th. Please try to schedule appointments outside of this testing window if possible. We will be doing end of the year iREADY testing too, following our MAP Testing window.
Again, here is a schedule for upcoming field trips.
Field Trip Fun (TIMES 3) YAY!!
Monday, May 1st-Disrict Field Trip to a Springfield Cardinals Game!
Tuesday, May 2nd-Springfield Little Theater Play!
Tuesday, May 9th- Frontier Theatre
I know that the newsletter this week is a little (a lot) lengthy, so I apologize... our calendar is completely full during the next couple of months, and I am trying my very best to not leave out anything. :)
EXPLORE Check!
Students that have not yet returned their EXPLORE (summer school) forms, need to fill out the form and return it to me as soon as possible. Even if your child has decided not to attend, turning in the form indicating they will not be attending, will allow our summer school liasons an opportunity to prepare for enrollment numbers and sessions. Thank you to those students who have already turned in their forms!!!
I think that is it!! Whew!!! Thanks for reading, or just even skimming through too. Hee hee!
Have a super terrific week!!!
Mrs. Eske
