My History as a Reader

By Lauren Sapone

As a child...

My favorite books were....

Some of my favorite books were "People", "On the Day you Were Born", "Carl Pops Up", and two books filled with silly poems called "A Light in the Attic" and "Where the Sidewalk Ends". Although i mostly read/was read these books between the ages of 2 and 8, I still enjoy reading these books.

I loved to read and be read to...

When I lived in Rumson, I remember going to the children's public library to listen to the children's book readings there up until we moved to Shrewsbury when I was four or five. In Shrewsbury, I often went to the Monmouth County Eastern Branch Library that was only a few minutes' drive away to participate in children's activities or just to have fun looking at books in the kids section. I always read books that were a little more difficult for my age.

I also remember just reading frequently at home. When my mom or dad wasn't reading to me, i was off exploring the endless world of books on my own.

Three of My All-Time Favorite Books:

What I'm reading now...

"just listen" by Sarah Dessen

I'm not even halfway done with this book yet, and I absolutely LOVE it. Part of the reason I started this book is because my friends recommended it to me, and they also got me into Sarah Dessen. I had actually read two of her books before high school, "Along for the Ride" and "This Lullaby", but although i loved both books, hadn't really taken note of the fact that they were by the same author. When i got to high school and met some new friends, they convinced me to read more Sarah Dessen. First i read "Dreamland", and it was incredible, and i will hopefully finish most or all of Sarah Dessen's books by the end of this upcoming summer. :) My friends at High Tech also got me into Nicholas Sparks, and i plan on reading more of his books in the near future.

THE END!!! Thanks for reading!! :)
