LSA Students in the Spotlight!
A LSA student volunteer group provided service at Sweet Peas Urban Garden! This organization is happy to have other groups come on future Community Service Days! They also have regular volunteer opportunities for anyone needing hours.
Chowan Retreat Information Session - April 26th at 7:00 PM!
It is time to meet with the professors! All LSA Community members are invited to learn more about our bonus week at Chowan University! So far, we have 73 of our students who will be in attendance June 11th through June 16th. There are so many fun activities planned exclusively for LSA students! LSA's 2024 Trip - Don't Miss It!
Costa Rica Trip
We are excited to announce a trip to Costa Rica next summer for rising Juniors and Seniors. We are planning on traveling with the company Explorica. See the link for specific tour information. (www.explorica.com/Morice-4813). It is our goal to take as many students as possible. If you could please take a few mins to fill out the Costa Rica Interest form so we can gauge potential student interest, it would be greatly appreciated. We plan on hosting another information session closer to the end of the school year. Please let us know if you have any questions, and we will be glad to speak with you.
PTSA will host a college panel for LSA students and families!
We will have some recent LSA graduates and parents of these graduates available to answer any questions you may have about what to expect and how to prepare for college during your senior year.
We will also have a brief time for voting on our new PTSA board.

NCDHHS - COVID Testing and Immediate Treatment
What is Test To Treat? If you have symptoms of COVID-19, you can get tested and treated at the locations in the below link. If you are positive and treatment is right for you, you can get your medication during the appointment. Just enter your zip code or address in the box, then locations near you will pop up. Hopefully, you won't need to use this, but it's good info to have just in case!

Prom Outside Guest Forms - Due May 5th
It's Prom Time!
Hello LSA Juniors and Seniors! You all are invited to prom 2023! The theme this year is The Golden Age Of Hollywood, so come dressed in your best red carpet attire! The event will be hosted on Saturday, May 27th, at A Step To Gold Ballroom. Doors will open for guests starting at 6:00 PM, and the event will end at 10:00 PM. Since this is a school event, students are expected to dress appropriately. Light refreshments and snacks will be provided. However, full meals will NOT be served, so please prepare accordingly. In order to attend, you must have purchased a ticket in advance. A single ticket will cost $50, while two tickets with the couples discount will be $90 total ($45 each). Also, LSA Juniors and Seniors are allowed to bring one date/plus one as long as they are between the ages of 16-20. We hope you all can attend and have a great time!

Exclusive Opportunity for LSA Students!

All rising 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade students are being invited to attend a FREE summer retreat sponsored by Chowan University! As a college preparatory high school, we seek exclusive opportunities for our students that will help them make a smooth transition from high school to college. The students will stay on campus for the week and attend classes in groups with Chowan University professors in order to receive the full campus life experience! All meals are included. LSA administrators and staff members will be present during the week. ONLY LSA students will be on campus during the retreat! LSA will host a virtual meeting with Chowan University's professors for all interested families in April. Until then, we would like to gauge interest as well as begin the planning process. LSA Substitute Teachers
Longleaf School of the Arts is looking for qualified people to team up with our faculty to substitute teach our students. Applicants should have a high school diploma or higher and be interested in teaching high school students. The daily rate is $100.00 per full day. Substitutes may be scheduled in advance or contacted the morning of the assignment.

COVID Testing Registration
This year, the testing will be individual PCR tests, not pooled testing. This is great for identifying who is positive without requiring retesting for each indivdual in a positive pool.
