WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING THIS WEEK IN TUTOR TIME?
This week in tutor time our students in Years 7 – 10 have been continuing to look at the 5 Ways to Wellbeing related to the elements of connect, take notice, be active and keep learning by carrying out some Mindfulness activities.

With the Year 11 GCSE exams nearly upon us, the Year 11 students have been spending tutor time revising using some of the techniques learnt previously.
ATTENDANCE
We are delighted that our overall attendance is now 92%.
Parents are required to contact the school by 8:00 am each day of absence.

STRIKE DAY REMINDER - TUESDAY 2ND MAY
YEAR 11 YEARBOOK, HOODIE AND PROM
Deadline for payment of yearbook and hoodies has been extended to April 30th 2023. We will not be able to accept any orders after this date.
Prom invitations have been sent out and payment can be made via Wisepay. Deadline: June 5th 2023.

ENGLISH REVISION SESSIONS
English revision sessions continue on Tuesdays as follows:
Tuesday 2nd May, 4.45pm-5.45pm, Language paper 1 revision (might be moved to Wednesday 3rd May if strike action goes ahead)
Tuesday 9th May, 4.45pm-5.45pm, Language paper 2 revision
All sessions will be recorded and sent out via email so students can access them at any time.
SCIENCE REVISION RESOURCES
The Science Department would like to offer students the opportunity to purchase the following revision resources:
CGP KS3 Science Study Guide and Workbook for years 7 & 8
CGP GCSE Science Revision Guide, Workbook and question cards for years 9, 10 & 11.
Once purchased please bring a printout of the receipt to Mrs Wade in the Science office to collect your order, between 8.30am and 12.30pm, Monday to Friday.

Chelmer Valley High School is seeking to appoint a qualified expert who is efficient, flexible, can work under pressure with a calm and friendly manner to lead our Finance Team.
This position is suitable for someone with extensive experience of finance and school budget processes within an education setting, who has the confidence to present data and high-quality reports and information to trustees and senior staff to assist them in making informed decisions concerning the financial management of the school.
The Finance Manager will provide overall strategic leadership and management of all aspects of finance including income generation within the school.

LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT

We seek an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our staff team. Experience of working with secondary age children and/or working effectively as part of a team would be an advantage. GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths preferable. Induction training will be provided.
