1984 Quotes
Michael Jauregui
"The party seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power" (263). ~ Book 3, Ch.3
The party only benefits its self, in a sense its "their" image. If someone is trying to tarnish their image we found out through reading that those people vanish. They do this, because if their image stays perfect people won't want to retaliate. This relates to their power because they're only keeping the people that don't bash and destroy their name "Big Brother". If that wasn't the case they wouldn't have the amount of force they have because if you hear enough about someone or something you wont care for it but since they've kept their image so perfect no one can forcefully take over their destination society. A quote that relates to my logic is " with respect comes power", and it ties directly back into 1984.
