Castle View Family Newsletter
September 9, 2022

Hello, Castle View Families:
Sometimes a four-day week feels longer, as we try to get five days' work done in less time. It was a busy week of learning, games, rehearsals, clubs and gearing up for this year's Showdown-- a whirlwind for sure, but also a joy to watch our community continue to come together.
Believe it or not, we are less than a month away from Term 1 Finals on October 6 and 7. I will share a detailed schedule with you for finals next week, but it might be a great time to check in with your kids to make sure they have a good plan for finishing the term strong.
As always, thank you for sharing your kids with us. It is our honor to serve them.

DCSD Calendar Feedback Survey
Dear DCSD Families and Staff,
Thank you to our calendar committee, composed of DCSD parents, students, leaders, teachers, and classified staff members, who have been working since January 2022 to develop four possible academic calendar options for the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 school years. Now, we welcome feedback from our entire community (including parents, students, and staff members) on four calendar options for each of the above-mentioned school years. Here’s how you can participate.
Take a few minutes to complete our Calendar Feedback Survey (English and Spanish) (Mandarin Survey, Russian Survey) You will be ranking the options for 2023-24 and 2024-25 academic years separately.
The feedback collected from the survey will be used to help the Calendar Committee select the calendar that will be presented to the DCSD Board of Education for approval and adoption.
Please complete the survey by Monday, September 19 at 11:59 p.m.
Thank you in advance for your feedback.

Course Fees
Course fees have been assessed for Term 1 courses; you should have received invoices in your email from My School Bucks. You can view and pay fees here: myschoolbucks.com.
Many school supplies including books, on-line subscriptions, and general classroom supplies have been purchased. In order to offset the costs already incurred, course fees are due by the end of the current term. It's always best to "pay as you go" so that fees don't pile up.
Feel free to reach out to the Bookkeeper, Renee Susman, at 303-387-9007 if you have any questions regarding fees.
September 15th kicks off Hispanic Heritage Month.

- Choose a local event to participate in List of Events from History Colorado.
- Read a book from a Latinx or Hispanic Author HERE is a list of some young adult titles available in the Castle View Library.
- Or, choose to watch a documentary or other activities: HERE is a nice list of 23 suggestions to help your family celebrate.
