Plot Connection
According to Suzanne Collins the greek myth Theseus was one of her greastest influences for the book the Hunger Games. The Myth Theseus is about a group of seven boys, and seven girls that are chosen by their king to fight the Minotaur. All the children are sent to Crete where they will be placed in an arena to fight it out. The result of the myth is death of all the children except for Theseus who will conqure the beast. In the Hunger Games the same thing happens. The government will send 24 tributes to arena and the will fight it out resulting in the death of all the contestants. Katniss and Peeta wil be the lucky two, that will survive.
