Food Drive Update
Kindness Drive
During the week of February 10-14, Groves Elementary will celebrate kindness and promote anti-bias concepts in order to create safe, inclusive and respectful classroom and school environments. We would also like to show kindness to our community during this week by collecting needed items. A group of our students have researched the needs of the homeless community and have come up with a plan to help. We would like for this to be a schoolwide effort to help raise awareness for those experiencing homelessness in our community.
Students are encouraged to bring the following items to donate during Kindness Week:
Kindergarten
Trial size toothpaste and toothbrushes
1st Grade
Granola Bars
2nd Grade
Quart size ziplock bags
3rd Grade
Soap bars
4th Grade

A student in elementary school (grades 1-5) will be eligible to accelerate to the next grade level if the student scores at least 80 on each exam in the subject areas of language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies, a district administrator recommends that the student be accelerated, and the students' parent gives written approval of the grade advancement.
For students interested in Advancement/Acceleration without prior instruction, testing will be available on the dates listed below. For more information and how to register please contact Mrs. Washburn or Mrs. Egan.
