A Note From Kellie: Safety Patrol Advisor Needed
It is with a heavy heart that I inform you I will not be returning next school year. My husband has accepted a position with his company in Newton and we will be moving over the summer to North Carolina. I am looking for someone who is interested in taking over the safety patrol advisor role. I would like to spend some time sharing information of the job and preparing this person for next year. There is small stipend that comes with this role. If you are interested, please email me! Thank you!
Winthrop Partnership Conference
The 9th Annual Partnership Conference for Educational Renewal, sponsored by the Winthrop University-School Partnership Network, is set for Tuesday, June 12, 2018 (pre-conferences on June 11) at the DiGiorgio Campus Center at Winthrop University. School and university faculty along with our phenomenal teacher candidates will share experiences related to the conference theme, “Connect – Collaborate - Innovate.”
Faculty, teacher candidates, teachers, principals, university/district administrators, and other individuals involved in education are encouraged to submit proposals for conference presentations by visiting https://winthrop.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_4ZKspz7OoH05qHX. The deadline for submitting a proposal is Wednesday, March 21, 2018. Proposals are selected through a blind review process.
We also ask mentor teachers and faculty to encourage teacher candidates and graduate students to present exciting projects and action research as this is an excellent venue for highlighting their talents and skills (to many local teachers, principals, and district administrators). We encourage collaborative presentations whenever possible!
Congrats, BETA CLUB
This is a huge honor and we are excited to welcome these guests!

Teacher Survey Our BEDS code is 4603023
Please answer questions based on the entire year. I know we are all tired and ready for Spring Break, but make sure your responses reflect an overall view. This is the data we used to determine our focus for professional development this year!
The online teacher survey portal will open on Wednesday, March 21, and the survey can be accessed from the State Department of Education website at http://ed.sc.gov/. Teachers will scroll down to the “Hot Topic” section and select “Teacher Survey.”
This year, the teacher survey still has the same format and same questions. The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. Teachers must first enter their school identification number (also known as the BEDS CODE or SIDN) and click START to begin. School name will appear. If the school name appearing on the survey form is not the right school, exit the survey and reenter the school identification number. Please understand there is a timeline for completing the teacher survey online. The portal opens on March 21 and closes on April 23.
Who completes this survey?Teachers, librarians, guidance counselors, and speech therapists at their school should complete the teacher survey. Part-time teachers may complete a survey form if they are on campus at least half of each school day or week. The survey may be completed using any computer with internet access. Teachers may use their home computers. If teacher experience problems with their school’s internet access, please direct them to your district technology coordinator for assistance.
