Odysseus

Definition of a Hero
Honest
Odysseus is hero because he is honest. Odysseus told the Cyclops "why would anyone on earth ever visit you again, when you behave so badly." He told Odysseus the truth because that’s what he thought of him.
Challenged
Odysseus is a hero because he is challenged. All heros are challenged in some way. Cyclops is a giant so the doorway has to be big; he has a giant stone blocking the way. Odysseus is challenged by not getting out of the cave. "We‘d have no way to move the great stone from the wide entrance." He has to learn to accept the challenges when he can do nothing.
Patient
Odysseus is a hero because he is patient. All heros are patient; they have to be patient with people or their problems. Odysseus is patient when it comes to not getting out of the cave. "Sighing, we waited for bright day." This teaches Odysseus that everything doesn’t go the way we like.
