As I have made my way into hybrid and virtual classrooms these past few weeks, it has struck me how much your children have grown. In addition to adding inches to their height, they are contributing in meaningful ways and showing a depth of maturity that I could have never imagined. Their resilience and positivity assures me that- no matter what the year will bring- learning will continue in rich and beautiful ways.
However you choose to spend your Thanksgiving Break, I wish you and your loved ones safety, good health, and rejuvenating rest. I am filled with gratitude for each of you.
PS: Thank you for our wonderful office staff for putting together our Palo Verde Gratitude Tree. Each leave represents something that students and staff are grateful for. We were happy to have the participation of both hybrid and distance programs.

Trimester 1 Progress Reports Released Today!
An email will be sent to all PAUSD families with directions on how to access reports this evening.
Traveling for the Holiday?
We ask families to monitor and report as cautiously and honestly as they would expect their fellow class peers' families to. The safety of our school community depends on everyone's efforts and commitment to act responsibly. Please protect yourself and others in the Santa Clara county community by:
- Reducing your contact with people outside your household for 14 days after returning;
- Getting tested during this 14 day period, ideally sometime between four and seven days after your return;
- Taking extra care to always wear your face covering when you’re in public.
Family Giving Tree 2020 Holiday Drive
Palo Verde is proud to host the Family Giving Tree Holiday Wishes Drive for the 7th year! The Family Giving Tree partners with Bay Area social service agencies to collect specific gift wishes from children with whom they work year-round. Browse wishes with your child and select ones to purchase, all online this year:https://vtree.fgt.org/PaloVerdeElementarySchool
Please donate before Dec 11. Together we can help make holiday wishes come true for many of our local children in need.
REEL is excited to launch the “Living and Learning 2e” Blog Series featuring twice exceptional, neurodivergent teenagers and young adults telling their stories, offering guidance, and charting paths into the future. These are the stories of what works and what could be different from 2e, neurodivergent teens and young adults themselves - in their own voices.
We hope you are as inspired by their stories as we are!
If you know of someone who would like to share their story, please contact us.
REEL supports 2e kids by providing a bridge between their educators and parents. We raise awareness and understanding of 2e kids and provide resources to make school a place they can be successful. We disseminate and create 2e resources for advocating for and supporting 2e kids at school. Twice-exceptional (2e) children possess exceptional talents and experience learning differences such as autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, dyslexia, etc.
