Avalanche Express Snow Tubing

Friday, Feb. 12th, 1-4pm

15630 Middle Road

Meadville, PA

Cost: $13.00 per participant. Please have exact cash amount for your group. I will collect the day of the event upon your sign in.

**We must have 30 or more tubers RSVP'd for the facility to open the doors for us at 1:00PM**

Please arrive by 12:30 for me to collect your payment and release forms. You will be allowed to stay until 10:00PM if you choose to do so.

RSVP: Please RSVP to David Kelliher at dkelliher@pavcsk12.org by Monday, February 1st. Please provide the student(s) name, parent/guardian attending, and any others who will be with your group. Once I receive your RSVP, I will send you the release form that will need filled out prior to snow tubing.

Purpose of Outing: Social and Educational

Students may claim 60 minutes for Math and 60 minutes for Science for this outing.

Learning Objectives

Students will be challenged with enrichment activities and group experiments.
Students will measure learning through using methods of Math and Science.

Students will safely learn about Work, Power, Force, Speed, and Acceleration while snow tubing.

Students will collect data for their experiments by utilizing a stopwatch, calculating, and graphing. (worksheets, pencils, and stopwatches will be provided)

Students will share the results with their peers.

12:30 Arrival, Welcome, Sign in, payment, & release forms
1:00 Tubing begins, Tubing experiments

2:30 Break and review experiment results
4:00 Tubing ends-Farewells

4:00-10 Parents & Students are permitted to stay until close

Reminders for PA Virtual Events

1: In consideration of our students with serious allergies, please refrain from bringing nut (food) products and balloons.

2: As always, to limit the spread of possible flu, please do not attend a PAVCS event if you have had a fever within 24 hours of the event.

3: For safety: All students need to be accompanied by a parent or learning coach. All students must wear shoes/sneakers for the entire school event and please refrain from bringing pets.

4: If there is a possibility of severe weather, please check Blackboard the day of the event in case the event is cancelled due to weather.

5: All PAVCS events are tobacco free.
