WBMS Friday Notes
November 26-30
Reflections from Ms. Perkins
WBMS Parents and Guardians –
I have some exciting news to share - Webb Bridge is one of four schools in Fulton county receiving brand new devices! Last year over 250 educators tested and evaluated nine potential devices and they overwhelmingly selected the Dell Latitude 3190. Locally, WBMS sent 10 staff members to appraise the offerings, and all selected this product as the best one for our students. It has a touchscreen, front and rear cameras, and a HDMI port. It is built to withstand everyday school use, can be used as a laptop or a tablet, and is loaded with Windows products. And it is supposed to hold a charge for much longer than we have been experiencing with our current Surface devices (fingers crossed!. While we are unsure when we will collect our Surfaces and issue the Dells, I wish to begin the transition process now to ensure it runs as smoothly as possible. Please go ahead and print, sign, and send in the new Device Agreement form to your student’s Compass teacher. Then work with your student to confirm all of his or her work is saved in the cloud spaces and not directly on his or her device. We will be doing this work at school during the month of December as well, but we do not want any of our students to lose important documents. As always we will need your help during the collection and distribution process, so look out for those volunteer opportunities. We are thrilled our students will have more effective and efficient technology to help leverage their learning.
