Weekly Wrap Up...
Good afternoon SMS families!
We hope you’ve been able to enjoy the nice weather this week. Spring is in the air!
Below are a few important items to keep on your radar as we near Spring Break.
On March 16th, we will be having an all-staff meeting. Because of that, our teachers will be unavailable from 8-9 AM and 3-4 PM that day.
The following are this week’s Star Students!
Aubrey Strang - Aubrey - Always so positive and encouraging to others. Although she is new to SMS, she is not afraid to ask questions or discuss issues openly and honestly. Aubrey Strang gives a strong effort, turns on her camera in zoom, greets everyone in class and says goodbye afterward.
Matthew Beatty - Matthew - Consistently shows up to class and always participates in discussions. He is insightful and makes others think about different perspectives. Matt comes to class every day and has his camera on. He asks questions, participates, and just has a positive attitude and works hard. I really enjoy having him in class!
Brayden Miller - Brayden -Very responsible, attends all Zooms and stays on top of his work.Brayden is an awesome student. He comes to class every day, has his camera on most of the time, and participates willingly. He works very hard and always turns in his best effort and I appreciate having him in my class.
Lauranne Ackleson - Participates in Zooms with camera on and asks clarifying questions. Lauranne is a hard worker that doesn't stop until she has done everything well and turned in. She will come to office hours with questions and always contributes to class!
Student Success Day… As we are halfway through the quarter, we are once again having our Student Success Day. Next Tuesday, March 16. What this means is there will be no classes on Tuesday. Instead, if your student has a D or an F in any of their classes they should have been contacted by one of their teachers with a request to meet on Tuesday. This is a great time to pause and reflect on where you are this quarter and talk with your teachers on what is needed to make the rest of the quarter a success!
Face coverings… Thinking ahead to opening for Hybrid on April 12th, please remember that all students and staff will be required to wear face coverings all day. If your student has a documented medical condition or disability that prevents mask wearing, the District will accommodate your child. Students will be spaced six feet apart, as required by Ready Schools Safe Learners guidelines. The District will adhere to all other safety protocols mandated by ODE and OHA.
Lockers...When we return to Hybrid learning, students will not be using lockers. They will keep their belongings with them during the day in their backpack.
Please stay tuned for more information regarding final cohort assignments and school schedules.
Have a great weekend!
