Getting our Pudsey Ears on for children in need
Children in Need fun
A big thank you to our Ambassadors for all their hard work.
At the last check the Just Giving Page was at £312 which is an amazing amount. Thank you so much for all your generosity! As you know we are avoiding children bringing cash into school, so if you haven't donated yet you can access our Just Giving page by clicking on the link below.

Remembrance
Year 4 then shared some of their wonderful poetry that they have written this week about Flanders Fields which were very moving. (see an example of their wonderful work below).
Across the classes children have been thinking about remembrance and created lovely poppies like the ones in the pictures above. In Year 2 the children created theirs using very careful collage techniques.
Well done to everyone for making sure that although we can't be properly together we still can make sure that we remember.
In Flanders Fields
In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
Slowly swaying to and fro
Sun shone like a yellow diamond
Although the guns went on and on
Take up our quarrel with the foe
We did live long long ago
Into the dead we go
We did live as you know
We saw sunset
Loved and were loved
And now live in pretty Flanders Fields
We throw the torch be yours to hold
Hold it high don't break faith with us who die
Take our sins from us in Flanders Field
Where we now sleep
But poppies blow
Odd Socks Day for Anti Bullying Week - Monday 16th November
As next week is anti-bullying week, all children will be invited to come to school on Monday 16th November wearing odd socks – these can be as sensible or as wacky as they like. The staff will be wearing theirs and it would be great if the children could show theirs off too! The aim of the day is to celebrate the diversity of others and be ‘United Against Bullying’. It is also a great opportunity to celebrate the kindness and love that our pupils show one another. There is no need for cash donations – we are simply raising awareness.
School Update
Dear Parents and Carers
An email was sent to all families to let you know that we have a confirmed case of COVID in one of our bubbles. The parents of the children in that bubble have been notified and the children have been sent home to isolate.
I am sure that many parents have concerns about the case. Can I take this opportunity to assure you that we do have systems in place to ensure that bubbles do not mix inside school and at break times, therefore only children in the bubble where there has been a confirmed case need to isolate.
As you will know we do have regular cleaning, sanitising and hand washing which are measures to help ensure that the chance of passing on the virus is as low as possible and as children do not have shared areas that they use and occupy, the risk is effectively managed.
Today's news does remind us that we all need to ensure that we follow the guidance to protect one another. On the playground, please do continue to social distance and ensure that masks are worn. Can we also remind parents that they should leave the premises immediately after picking up and dropping off.
The increasing number of confirmed cases in the Harrogate area does mean that everyone needs to take the measures seriously. I would like to reassure you that the school will continue to work to minimise risk and protect everyone in its family.
If you do have any concerns or questions please do speak to me or email on admin@riponcathedral.n-yorks.sch.uk
Many thanks for your ongoing support

The Friends of Ripon Cathedral School
Thank you to those who joined us for our Zoom AGM. The Friends will keep on going despite the difficulties of the present situation! At the moment we are working hard to bring you the Friends Second-hand Uniform Shop. To find out what we currently have available please head to our facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/RiponCathedralPrimarySchoolParentsandFriends/) and find the album pinned to the top of our page. Each item is 50p each. Everything has been cleaned, washed and repaired. If you have any donations you wish to donate please make sure they are in a good condition.
Thank you to all parents who have ordered personalised Christmas cards and gifts. We were delighted to get so many orders in and will look forward to seeing the finished products. Also coming up, we have our Christmas Raffle. Any help in getting donations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Stay safe and well.
