Flash Light Reading in Media Center for March is Reading Month
A note from the Principal...
Every March is a very active time at our School! We celebrate READING!! Attached below is a copy of our Reading Celebration Calendar. Most days have a "Reading based" activity to draw attention to the fun, important skill of Reading.
If you are reading this, I'm sure you understand the importance of Reading! And everyone has experienced that the more you read, the better you get at it.
There are many things about Reading, that unless you work in a school or teach Reading, you may not realize or spend time thinking about. I thought I'd share some highlights.
1) Reading improves a child's vocabulary, writing skills, grammar, sentence structure, and communication skills.
2) Early Reading skills directly relates to a child's future academic success.
3) Reading early helps build independence and self-confidence.
4) The internet has made Reading more and more a part of people's daily lives. As children click around child-friendly websites or click the backward buttons of online story pages, they increase fine motor skills and their hand-eye coordination.
5) The more young children are read to, the greater their interest in mastering Reading.
6) Reading to and with your children is one of the most rewarding bonding times for a family, and it's FREE!
This month, if you can spare an extra 20 minutes daily, consider reading (more) with your child!

Parking Lot Safety
I have heard some concerns from parents lately about parents not following the flow of traffic. If you would like to park on the left side of the parking lot, please follow proper traffic flow and drive through the parking lot. A diagram of traffic flow is attached.
As a reminder:
~The flow of traffic is one way.
~Driving to the parking lot behind the building is NOT allowed, no student drop off in the back of the building.
~Please be courteous to other drivers, kids are most likely within earshot and modeling patience will benefit their learning.
Thank you! :)
