Delran High School Broadcast

A Message from Mr. Finkle!

Dear Parents of Underclassmen:

Schedules were given to the students this afternoon for next year. Please review the schedule carefully to ensure that the courses that were requested appear. Understand that this is a tentative schedule, and it may not be exactly the same in September. During the summer months, schedules are subject to change as a result of class balancing, room or staff changes, and alterations due to unforeseen circumstances.

There will be absolutely no changes to schedules after July 31st.

Counselors will be in throughout June and July to help and support schedule changes. Please remember that unless your child was recommended for a course, a waiver is not possible at this time. Any counselor can help with schedule changes. If you wish to meet with your child’s specific counselor, an appointment can be made through the Guidance Office at extension 3008.

After the mailing of the final schedules in early August, there will have to be an exceptional reason for a change to be considered at that time. Therefore, the only changes that will be considered by the high school administration are those that are deemed educationally sound.

Dear Parents of Seniors:

We are exactly one week away from graduation, and we would like to make graduation an exciting and enjoyable event for both students and parents. I am respectfully requesting your help and support for the following:

  • On May 7th, a detailed letter was sent home to senior parents regarding mandatory graduation practices and graduation. As stated in the letter, graduation tickets are not required if the ceremony is held outside. In the event of inclement weather, graduation will be held in the gym. Due to limited seating, only four guests will be allowed to attend. Tickets will be distributed at practice on Friday morning. The ceremony will be streamed live on our web site, in the media center and the performing arts center. We will do our very best to hold the ceremony outdoors.

  • Please be mindful and respectful of your neighbor during this important event. Please do not bring balloons to the ceremony whether it will be held outdoors or indoors. We receive many complaints after every graduation ceremony from family members and friends that they had a difficult time viewing the ceremony because of the obstruction.

  • The procession will begin promptly at 7pm. Due to the large volume of cars, parking will be a challenge. I ask everyone to give yourself extra time that evening. If anyone needs to be driven to the football field, the custodial staff will be available with golf carts. Please drop off your family members at the gymnasium doors.

  • Diplomas will be distributed to the seniors during the ceremony. Only one copy has been ordered for each student. Getting a duplicate copy is costly and time consuming.

  • The Class of 2018 worked extremely hard. They deserve to enjoy the fruits of their labor with little distractions so please plan your arrival time accordingly.

All obligations/book fines must be paid in full by Thursday, June 14th. Any senior who has an outstanding obligation will not receive their graduation cap and gown after graduation rehearsal on Friday, June 15th. If you have any questions regarding an obligation or book fine, please contact Mrs. Susan Jordan at or (856) 461-6100 x3003.

Project Graduation

The Delran Middle and High School PTA is proud to be sponsoring Project Graduation 2018 on Friday, June 15th from 9:15pm to 2:30am at The Moorestown Field House. Project Graduation is a drug and alcohol free party for the graduates held on graduation night. It allows our graduates to celebrate with their fellow classmates in a safe environment. Additional information is posted below.

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please contact me at or (856) 461-6100 x3005.

Delran High School Happenings

Attention students who were registered and participated in the Saturday, June 2nd SAT at Moorestown High School: The test administration has been rescheduled for Saturday, June 16th.

The 2018 Best of Class special will air this Saturday, June 9th at 7pm on 6abc WPVI-TV. It was an intense process for the 6abc team to create a 30 minute special from a daylong of footage. Action News hopes that you will watch the broadcast as our own Eshaan Parikh is honored as DHS Valedictorian.

May Students of the Month

Congratulations to the following students who were nominated to be our May Students of the Month:

Brian Cunha

Brian has been an excellent student in art all year. He gives full effort on his work when planning (sketchbook) and execution. He is always on task and working towards achieving his goals. Brian has been especially helpful to me by helping me find things in an unfamiliar room and setting up for the art show. Brian was nominated by Mr. Michael George.

Lara Melo

Lara is an exceptional student. She will exit ESL after only one year. Lara is a positive role model among the ELL students and is willing to help other students with schoolwork or other issues. She is one of the best students I've had in my teaching career. Lara was nominated by Mrs. Susan Garrity-Holmes.

Jessica Szymanski

Jessica has an incredible work ethic. She is the first to start an assignment and puts 110% into everything she does. Jessica is enthusiastic with every project and loves assisting other student when she can. She volunteers for many photography projects including documenting school events and being the woman behind the lens for every student of the Month photograph. Jessica was nominated by Ms. Lindsay Dunham.

Matthew Williams

Matthew has been a runner for the main office the entire school year and is always greeting people and helping the staff. He has also been a key player in the production of the yearbook. Matthew was a member of the bowling and track teams this year. We will miss Matthew's smile and pleasant demeanor next year. Matthew was nominated by Mr. Brian Croly.

Athletic News

Good luck to Miekel House who will be competing in the Meet of Champions at Northern Burlington High School on Saturday, June 9th in the 100 meter dash. He placed 2nd at the Group 2 Championships last weekend, and we are excited to cheer him on this weekend.

Another spring season at Delran High School has come to a close and the students have given us another reason to be proud. It was amazing to watch the hard work, determination and teamwork that each student showed. Great sportsmanship, effort and resilience was on display at each contest, everything that Delran wants to see from its student body. Go Bears!

Fall 2018 Athletic Registration

Delran High School Fall 2018 athletic registration is now open. DHS is no longer using ATS for the registration process. Delran High School is using FamilyID to collect all of the paperwork that NJSIAA and DHS require for participation. Registration for Fall 2018 will be open until Sunday, July 15th. This will provide DHS with enough time for the school physician to approve all physicals and for the documents to be reviewed for completion. Click here to go to the FamilyID athletic registration landing page. Once on the athletic landing page, you must sign into your account if you already have students registered through FamilyID at Delran High School. If you have never registered in FamilyID, please complete the registration process. In order for your son/daughter to participate in athletics at Delran High School, all documents must be electronically signed and a valid physical on file.

If you have any questions or difficulty with registration, please do not hesitate to contact Susan Jordan at in the main office or Anthony Guidotti, the Director of Athletics.

The school year is coming to an end. So too is the life of your school shoes. What will you do with them? Most likely you’ll toss them in the trash. But wait…there’s a much better plan.

ShoeBox Recycling is a recycler of shoes. Its mission is to recycle as many pairs of shoes as possible while offering the opportunity to find your SoleMate in the process. With over 300 million pairs of shoes hitting landfills each year, ShoeBox Recycling is looking to change the way people think about their shoes and the need for reuse around the globe. In short, this program reduces waste, creates an economy in areas that need it and provides money to the athletic training program for the purchase of additional health and safe supplies.

ShoeBox Recycling take all types of wearable pairs of men’s, women's and kid’s shoes. The only shoes we do not take are Heavy Winter Boots, Skates, Blades, Flip-Flops, Slippers, Crocs, Singles or Unusable. They take shoes in all shapes, sizes and colors. In return they pay the DHS Athletic Training Program for each pound we keep from hitting the landfill. So, bring them in! Recycling boxes can be found outside of the athletic training room at DHS.
