Even Witches Practice Self-Care
Self-Care Time
Self-Care and supporting each other is the way we are going to get through this mess of 2020. You have heard the old saying, "You can't pour from an empty cup". Well, turns out it is true! Many of you are serving the needs of your students, and own families, but often forget about yourself. This can lead to exhaustion, burn out and negative health effects. Please take a moment to practice self-care, right now from the options below. Self-Care will be our focus for November, so let's start practicing now, even try it with your class!
Types of Self-Care
Physical: Get Moving Exercise improves mental health by reducing anxiety, depression, and negative mood and by improving self-esteem and cognitive function. Exercise has also been found to alleviate symptoms such as low self-esteem and social withdrawal. | Space: Organizing Your Environment Cleaning and organizing are strongly associated with decreasing stress and anxiety. Often a cluttered or messy area can be seen as “unfinished business,” whether consciously or unconsciously, and this can add unnecessary stress. | Personal: Hobbies Spending time on an activity that you enjoy can improve your mental health and wellbeing. Research shows that people with hobbies are less likely to suffer from stress, low mood, and depression. Activities that get you out and about can make you feel happier and more relaxed. |
