About me
- I love to travel and experience different ways of life. "Adventure is the best way to learn!"
- My family means everything to me. They have been the greatest supporters, encouragers, and inspire me everyday.
- I am so happy and grateful for the opportunity to educate young minds!
What does curriculum mean?
Curriculum is many different paths of topics broken down by subjects. Teachers are facilitators that follow the path but can go backwards, forwards, or sideways to meet the needs of their students. Curriculum provides the teachers with a goal and he or she will develop ways to achieve that goal by focusing on his or her students.
What is education for?
Education is for students to learn how to deal with and understand experiences and real life situations. Education is for students to learn skills that will help them achieve their career goals. Education is for students to develop skills that can mold them into good citizens of society. Lastly, education is for students to discover their interests that will give them purpose in this world.
Why "differential experiences of males and females in schooling"?
My sister is studying Mechanical Engineering at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and is one of the few females in the major. She is constantly asked, "Why do you want to be an engineer, that is a man's job?" or looked as weak or not smart enough because of being a female. I want to understand WHY engineering is considered a man's job. One of my favorite courses during my undergrad was a course about sex and gender in sports. My eyes were open to the inequalities between male and females not only in sports but also in education. I refuse to be "okay" with living in a man's world and want to encourage young girls and boys to go after their dreams regardless of the stigma it carries.
