Chequamegon North Board Report
I hope you all had an enjoyable holiday season and were able to take in many of the wonderful events throughout the district. Shown below is the middle school choir at their holiday concert the week before break. The return from break met the Glidden Campus with bouts of illness that have come and gone in waves. We seem to be on the mend and looking forward to a healthier second semester.
Safety Drill Update
Students at Chequamegon North are scheduled for a tornado drill this week. Students and staff will participate in a tabletop discussion prior to an actual drill where students will get to experience the motions. As always, safety drills spark conversations and what if statements that help us prepare for an actual emergency.
Secondary & Elementary Math Institute Visits
The Math Institute of Wisconsin spent a few days in the district working with elementary and secondary math practices. It is always so beneficial and we learn so much from observing and having conversations about what is best for student learning.
This week we held the annual Chequamegon District Spelling Bee. Shown below are the qualifiers that will move on to compete in the Regional Spelling Bee at CESA 12 in February. Elizabeth Hilgart (left), Nolan Niehoff (center), Abagail Brenholt (right)
8th Grade Transition Activities
8th Grade students traveled to the High School on January 10th and 13th to explore elective opportunities. They spent the morning talking with High School staff and learning about what decisions they would like to make for their choices when they attend CHS next year!
