Congratulations to our student body leaders for next year: Grace Park (President) and Ivy Dorward (Vice President)! They were introduced to the school at the end of a great Spirit Week and Spirit Assembly on Friday, including teachers and staff members gamely being part of a whipped cream "pie in the face" event. Thanks Chaim Lodish, Ryan Nest, Colby Skoglund, Dan Gavin, and LeVar Barrino for being good sports! Also, a big shoutout to Student Planning and teacher Bowen Stephens for all your work this year in bringing good spirit and cheer to the school!
Thank you to the students and families attending the Awards Ceremony this past week where we celebrated student accomplishments. We also congratulate the 44 new members of the National Honor Society!
For the second time in three seasons, a Burlington duo has been crowned Doubles Champions in the Vermont Boys Individuals High School Tennis Tournament. A year after heartbreak in the tournament championship match, Khiem Nguyen (‘23) and Nevin Morton (‘24) came out victorious on May 27 at Leddy Park with a win in straight sets, 6-3, 7-5, over a fantastic duo from St. Johnsbury. Congratulations!
Congrats to the AP 2D Art and Design students have been working hard all year on a collection of 15 art pieces based on a personal investigation through their artwork. They have really done a wonderful job with their portfolios, with many pieces on display in the hallway.

Year End Studies (YES)
A reminder: The YES (Year-End Studies) Session starts June 1 and runs through June 13th with our Presentation of Learning Day on June 14th.
- There is no Add/Drop period for YES. All students have been placed in a class(es) they selected on their registration form. School counselors are not involved with YES assignments.
- There will be Credit Recovery opportunities before and after YES courses for students needing to regain credit from courses they took August-May of this school year.
- On June 14th, a culminating showcase of learning will allow students, parents, and community members to learn from each other and celebrate YES study accomplishments. Presentation of Learning Day will take place from 9:00am-1:30pm
- Required each year for graduation, YES mini-courses provide a variety of new, enriching, and interdisciplinary learning experiences including on-campus seminars, off-campus and field experiences, travel programs, internships, community service and other learning opportunities. Students deepen learning interests and apply academic skills and knowledge.
- All students must attend and participate every day during the YES Session including the Presentation of Learning (POL) day. Reminder: Please schedule all appointments before the start of YES or in the afternoons after 2:15pm. Please plan family vacations after the last day of school Thursday, June 14th.
- BHS has been a leader in VT in providing this year-end time focused on Graduation Expectations of Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving, Effective Communication, Cross-Cultural Understanding and Civic Engagement, Personal Development, and Curiosity and Creativity.
- Thanks to BHS staff (the YES Team led by Jeff Finn, Colby Skoglund, and Francesca Dupuis) who have also been working with CVU and U-32 as they create their own YES-like experiences.
