S.S. Schutzstaffel

The Hidden Army

The S.S. was a secret guard for Hitler while he was first brought into power. They would mostly just watch over Hitler and make sure no one came close to him without authorization. After showing promise they then moved up to a police force with the gestapo. As a police force they made secret camps to punish jews. Then finally they became their own secret military force just in time for World War II.
